Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and physically capable Drywall Mud Mixing Assistant to join our fast-paced construction team in Bristol. In this critical support role, you will be responsible for preparing and mixing drywall mud to precise specifications, ensuring our drywall installers have a continuous supply of high-quality material. This is a hands-on position requiring attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently within a busy construction environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately measure and mix drywall compound (mud) according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
  • Maintain a consistent supply of mixed mud for drywall installers, anticipating needs and proactively preparing batches.
  • Transport mixed mud and other necessary materials to various work areas on-site.
  • Ensure all mixing equipment and tools are kept clean, well-maintained, and in good working order.
  • Assist drywall installers with other tasks as needed, including material handling, site cleanup, and basic preparation.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Monitor mud consistency and make adjustments to ensure optimal application properties.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or material deficiencies to the supervisor immediately.

Required Skills

  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy bags of drywall compound (up to 25kg) and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail for precise mixing and consistency.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding construction environment.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols on a construction site.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a construction support role or similar physical labour position.
  • Knowledge of different types of drywall mud and their applications.
  • Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
  • Basic understanding of construction site operations.
