Job Description
Are you meticulous, organized, and passionate about academic content? Course Hero is seeking a Virtual Study Notes Typist to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing and formatting academic notes, lectures, and study materials into a clear, searchable, and high-quality digital format for our platform. You’ll have the flexibility to either type notes from provided content or sell your own high-quality academic notes. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with strong typing skills and a keen eye for detail to contribute to a leading educational resource, working entirely remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe handwritten or audio academic notes, lectures, and study materials into digital text.
- Format content according to Course Hero's style guidelines, ensuring consistency and readability.
- Verify the accuracy of content, including technical terms, equations, and subject-specific vocabulary.
- Organize and categorize notes effectively to enhance searchability and user experience.
- Meet agreed-upon deadlines for note transcription and submission.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all academic content.
- Optionally, contribute your own high-quality academic notes for various subjects, ensuring they meet our quality standards.
Required Skills
- Excellent typing speed (minimum 60 WPM) and accuracy.
- Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors.
- Familiarity with various academic subjects (e.g., STEM, Humanities, Business).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable internet connection and a personal computer.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in transcription, data entry, or academic content creation.
- Experience with different citation styles (APA, MLA, Chicago).
- Background in education or a specific academic field.
- Familiarity with online learning platforms and digital content tools.
