Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Vending Machine Operator to join our team in Derby. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the efficient operation, stocking, cleaning, and maintenance of our vending machines across an assigned route. You will ensure machines are fully operational, well-stocked with a variety of popular products, and present a clean, inviting appearance to our customers. This position requires excellent organizational skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. A company vehicle will be provided for your route duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a designated route of vending machines within the Derby area.
- Efficiently stock vending machines with products according to planograms and demand.
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of vending machines to ensure hygiene standards.
- Conduct minor repairs and troubleshooting of vending machines to ensure full functionality; report major issues to technical support.
- Collect cash and other payment methods from machines, accurately record transactions, and reconcile funds.
- Monitor product inventory levels, place orders, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and food hygiene regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of machine performance, sales, and service activities.
Required Skills
- Valid UK Driving License with a clean record
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 25kg) regularly
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Basic numeracy and literacy for record-keeping and cash handling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in vending machine operation, retail, or route delivery
- Basic mechanical or technical aptitude for machine troubleshooting
- Familiarity with inventory management systems
