Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit individual to join our team as a Pub Cellar Keg Mover. This essential role involves the safe and efficient movement of heavy kegs, casks, and other cellar stock within our pub cellars, often requiring work in underground or confined spaces. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all beverages are stored correctly, cellars are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, and stock is readily available for service. This is a demanding role that requires significant physical strength and a keen awareness of health and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely move and organise heavy kegs, casks, and bottled stock within pub cellars.
  • Load and unload deliveries, ensuring accurate stock rotation (FIFO).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of cellar areas, including sweeping, mopping, and ensuring proper ventilation.
  • Assist with stock counts and inventory management as required.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, particularly concerning heavy lifting and working in confined spaces.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management promptly.
  • Support the wider pub team as needed during peak periods or staff shortages.

Required Skills

  • Excellent physical fitness and ability to lift and carry heavy objects repeatedly (up to 50kg).
  • Strong understanding and commitment to health and safety procedures.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Comfortable working in confined, often cool, and damp cellar environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a cellar, warehouse, or similar physically demanding role.
  • Knowledge of basic stock management principles.
  • Awareness of safe manual handling techniques.
