Job Description

College Nannies + Sitters of Portland is seeking enthusiastic and responsible Sitters to join our team. No resume required – we believe in your potential and are ready to help you get started this weekend! This role involves providing safe, engaging, and personalized care for children in their homes, adapting to various family needs and schedules. It’s perfect for individuals who are reliable, enjoy creative play, and can provide a supportive environment for children of all ages.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities, including games, crafts, and outdoor play.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Prepare simple meals and snacks as needed.
- Assist with homework or school activities if requested.
- Maintain a tidy and organized play area.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's activities and any important updates.
- Follow family-specific instructions and routines.
Required Skills
- Genuine love for children and ability to connect with them.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to various household environments.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Legal right to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in childcare (babysitting, nannying, teaching, etc.).
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Clean background check and driving record.
- Access to reliable transportation.
