Job Description
FedEx Express is seeking a dedicated and energetic Cargo Handler to join our team at a federal site in Henderson, NV. This full-time position comes with comprehensive benefits and offers an exciting opportunity to be a crucial part of our global logistics operations. As a Cargo Handler, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of freight, ensuring timely delivery and contributing to the seamless flow of goods through our network. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight, packages, and materials from trucks, trailers, and aircraft.
- Sort and segregate cargo according to destination, weight, and special handling instructions.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Inspect cargo for damage and accurately report any discrepancies.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, especially at the federal site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with inventory counts and documentation as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic literacy and numerical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Reliable transportation to the work site.
- Must pass a federal background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or cargo handling environment.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
