Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Distance Learning Coordinator to join our team. This fully remote position is crucial for the successful design, implementation, and management of our online learning programs within the public education system. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in educational technology, curriculum development for virtual environments, and a passion for ensuring equitable access to quality distance education. You will work closely with educators, administrators, and technical staff to create engaging and effective virtual learning experiences for students across various grade levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive distance learning programs and initiatives.
- Collaborate with curriculum specialists and teachers to adapt existing content for online delivery and design new virtual learning materials.
- Provide ongoing training and support to educators on best practices for online instruction, learning management systems (LMS), and educational technologies.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of distance learning programs through data collection, analysis, and reporting, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Research and recommend new educational technologies and platforms to enhance virtual learning experiences.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant educational policies, accessibility standards, and data privacy regulations for online learning.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for technical support related to distance learning platforms for teachers, students, and parents.
- Organize and facilitate virtual workshops, webinars, and professional development sessions for staff.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends and innovations in distance education and instructional design.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in distance learning coordination, instructional design, or educational technology.
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Google Classroom, Canvas, Moodle).
- Strong understanding of curriculum development principles for online environments.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team setting.
- Demonstrated ability to train and support adult learners in technology use.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with K-12 public education systems.
- Certification in online teaching or instructional design.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards for online content (e.g., WCAG).
- Experience in project management within an educational context.
