Job Description
We are seeking an outstanding and visionary School Principal / Headmaster to lead one of our key academies in Barrow-in-Furness. This pivotal role requires an inspirational leader with a proven track record of educational excellence, strategic management, and a deep commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving academic achievement, nurturing student well-being, and strengthening community partnerships. Key Responsibilities
- Provide inspirational and strategic leadership, guiding the academy towards sustained improvement and excellence.
- Oversee all aspects of school management, including curriculum development, staff performance, budget management, and student welfare.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes high expectations, respect, and a love of learning.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to raise attainment and ensure all students achieve their full potential.
- Build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, governors, and the wider community.
- Recruit, retain, and develop a highly effective team of teaching and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and Oasis Community Learning policies.
- Manage the school's resources effectively to ensure optimal educational outcomes.
- Champion safeguarding and promote the welfare of all students.
Required Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school setting (e.g., Headteacher, Deputy Head, Assistant Head).
- Demonstrable track record of raising educational standards and improving student outcomes.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development, assessment, and effective pedagogy.
- Financial acumen and experience in managing school budgets.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Knowledge of current educational policy and best practices.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop staff and students.
Preferred Qualifications
- National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).
- Master's degree in Education or a related field.
- Experience working within a multi-academy trust framework.
- Experience with school improvement initiatives in challenging contexts.
