Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Tractor Driver to join our team in Leicester. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of modern agricultural machinery to support our farming operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. This role is crucial to our success, involving everything from cultivation and planting to harvesting and general farm maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate tractors and associated implements for various farming activities (e.g., ploughing, drilling, spraying, mowing, baling).
- Conduct routine maintenance and basic repairs on machinery, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
- Perform pre-operation checks and ensure all equipment is in safe working order.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, fuel consumption, and any machinery issues.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, environmental policies, and company procedures.
- Assist with general farm duties as required, including fencing, yard work, and crop monitoring.
- Communicate effectively with farm management and other team members.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating modern agricultural tractors and machinery.
- Strong understanding of farm operations and seasonal tasks.
- Ability to perform routine machinery maintenance and basic fault finding.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
- Full UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Agriculture or equivalent.
- PA1 and PA2 spraying certificates.
- Experience with GPS guidance systems and precision farming technology.
- Telehandler certificate.
