Job Description
As a Blood Donor Carer, you will be an essential part of our donor centre team in Leicester, providing vital support and comfort to blood donors before, during, and after their donation. Your role involves ensuring a positive and safe experience for every donor, maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the donation area, and assisting with administrative tasks. This is an on-site position requiring a compassionate approach and a commitment to our life-saving work.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet blood donors, providing a friendly and reassuring presence.
- Monitor donor well-being during and after donation, identifying and responding to any adverse reactions promptly.
- Provide post-donation care, including serving refreshments and ensuring donors are feeling well before leaving.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the donation area, including preparing and clearing donor beds and equipment.
- Assist with stock management, ensuring all necessary supplies are available for donation sessions.
- Accurately complete necessary documentation and donor records.
- Work collaboratively with nurses and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient donation sessions.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and organisational policies.

Preferred Qualifications

- Basic First Aid certification.
