Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Avionics Technician to join our world-class team in Derby. This critical role involves the installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of complex avionics systems on a variety of aircraft and test rigs. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring the safety and operational reliability of our cutting-edge aerospace products. Key Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of avionics systems and components.
- Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and functional tests on electrical and electronic aircraft systems.
- Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Install and integrate new avionics equipment and modifications according to engineering specifications.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately and thoroughly in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide feedback on system performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, quality standards, and company policies.
- Participate in training and continuous professional development to stay current with evolving avionics technologies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Avionics Technician or similar role within the aerospace industry.
- Strong understanding of aircraft electrical and electronic systems, including navigation, communication, and flight control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
- Proficiency in using specialized avionics test equipment and tools.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.
- Relevant technical certification or diploma in Avionics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- EASA Part-66 B2 license or equivalent international certification.
- Experience with specific Rolls-Royce engine types or aircraft platforms.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, for technical documentation and communication.
