Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Laundry Sorter to join our Hotel Services team. In this routine yet crucial role, you will be responsible for the meticulous sorting and preparation of all hotel linen, ensuring that our guests always have access to clean, fresh, and perfectly maintained textiles. This position involves handling a high volume of laundry items, identifying different types of linen, and preparing them for washing, drying, and pressing processes. Attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential. This is an on-site position that requires physical stamina and a commitment to maintaining the highest hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort soiled linen, towels, and uniforms according to fabric type, colour, and soil level.
- Inspect items for damage, stains, or foreign objects before processing.
- Load and unload commercial washing machines and dryers.
- Monitor laundry equipment to ensure proper operation and report any malfunctions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laundry area.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and procedures.
- Assist with folding, stacking, and storing clean linen as needed.
- Communicate effectively with other laundry and hotel staff.
- Handle delicate items with care and follow specific treatment instructions.
Required Skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy bags of laundry.
