Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate WFH Workspace Designer specializing in Ergonomic Office Setup to join our innovative team. In this 100% remote role, you will be instrumental in helping individuals create optimal, healthy, and productive home office environments using IKEA’s extensive range of products and design principles. You will provide personalized consultations, develop tailored design plans, and offer expert advice on ergonomics, lighting, storage, and overall aesthetic. This role requires a keen eye for design, a deep understanding of ergonomic principles, and excellent communication skills to guide clients through the transformation of their home workspaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct virtual consultations with clients to understand their needs, space constraints, and ergonomic requirements.
  • Develop personalized WFH workspace design plans, mood boards, and product recommendations using IKEA's catalog.
  • Provide expert advice on ergonomic setup, including chair selection, desk height, monitor placement, lighting, and accessory integration.
  • Create detailed layouts and 3D renderings to help clients visualize their new workspace.
  • Educate clients on the benefits of ergonomic design and best practices for a healthy home office.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in home office design, ergonomics, and IKEA product launches.
  • Collaborate with clients to refine designs, ensuring satisfaction and adherence to their budget.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive design proposals, including itemized product lists and estimated costs.
  • Offer post-design support and adjustments as needed to ensure optimal setup and client satisfaction.
  • Contribute to content creation (e.g., blog posts, guides) related to WFH ergonomics and design for IKEA's platforms.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in interior design, space planning, or a related field, with a focus on ergonomic principles.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar 3D modeling tools).
  • Strong understanding of ergonomic best practices and their application in office environments.
  • Excellent virtual communication and client consultation skills.
  • Ability to create compelling design proposals and visual presentations.
  • Familiarity with IKEA's product range and design philosophy.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Certification in ergonomics (e.g., CPE, AEP).
  • Experience with virtual reality or augmented reality tools for design visualization.
  • Portfolio showcasing previous home office or ergonomic design projects.
  • Multilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Experience working with a large retail brand or furniture company.
