Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and exceptionally fast WFH Legal Transcriptionist to join our dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, requiring an individual with impeccable accuracy, a strong understanding of legal terminology, and the ability to manage a high volume of transcription tasks from home. The successful candidate will be responsible for transcribing various legal documents, proceedings, and communications, ensuring all work is completed with precision and strict confidentiality. This role is critical in supporting our legal professionals and maintaining the highest standards of documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribe audio recordings of legal proceedings, dictations, client meetings, and other legal documents with high speed and accuracy.
  • Proofread and edit transcribed documents to ensure grammatical correctness, proper punctuation, and adherence to legal formatting standards.
  • Verify the accuracy of names, dates, legal terms, and other specific information.
  • Manage and prioritize a significant volume of transcription work to meet strict deadlines.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive legal information.
  • Utilize transcription software and other relevant tools efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with legal teams regarding specific transcription needs or clarifications.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, particularly regarding data security and privacy.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a legal transcriptionist or similar role.
  • Typing speed of 80+ words per minute (WPM) with high accuracy.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify errors.
  • Proficiency with transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe, FTR Gold) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent command of the English language (grammar, spelling, punctuation).
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate or diploma in legal administration, paralegal studies, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with various legal practice areas (e.g., litigation, corporate law, real estate).
  • Experience with cloud-based document management systems.
  • Ability to work with different audio formats and qualities.
