Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Restaurant Dish Scraper to join our high-volume kitchen team. This is a crucial role that ensures the smooth operation of our busy culinary environment. As a Dish Scraper, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, contributing directly to our kitchen’s efficiency and our guests’ dining experience. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced setting and are committed to teamwork and meticulous work.
Key Responsibilities
- Scrape food residue from plates, utensils, and cookware before washing.
- Load and unload dishwashers efficiently and safely.
- Hand wash specific items as required.
- Organize and put away clean dishes, glasses, and silverware in designated areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing station and surrounding kitchen areas.
- Assist with basic kitchen cleanup tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors.
- Follow all sanitation and safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
Required Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dishwashing or kitchen support role.
- Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation practices.
- Food Handler's Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
