Job Description
Publicis Sapient is seeking a passionate and skilled Shopify Expert to join our team, focusing on empowering sustainable and eco-friendly brands. This is a 100% remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere in Canada while making a significant impact on businesses committed to a greener future. If you have a deep understanding of the Shopify platform, a knack for creating seamless e-commerce experiences, and a genuine interest in sustainability, we want to hear from you. As a Shopify Expert, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing online stores for our clients in the sustainable and eco-friendly sector. You will collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring that every store not only looks great but also performs exceptionally and aligns with our clients’ ethical values.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development and implementation of Shopify and Shopify Plus stores, with a strong emphasis on sustainable brand best practices.
- Customize Shopify themes and develop custom sections and blocks using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Integrate third-party applications and APIs (e.g., for sustainable shipping, carbon offsetting, product sourcing, loyalty programs).
- Optimize store performance for speed, SEO, and conversion rates, particularly for mobile experiences.
- Provide technical consultation and recommendations to clients on Shopify capabilities, app selection, and e-commerce strategies.
- Perform rigorous testing and quality assurance to ensure bug-free and responsive user experiences.
- Stay updated with the latest Shopify features, e-commerce trends, and sustainable technology solutions.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and content creators to deliver cohesive and impactful digital experiences.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in Shopify theme development and customization.
- Strong proficiency in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3 (Sass/SCSS), and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with Shopify API integration and third-party app implementation.
- Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
- Demonstrated interest in sustainable practices and eco-friendly business models.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Shopify Plus features and advanced customizations.
- Knowledge of headless commerce architectures (e.g., using Hydrogen, Next.js).
- Familiarity with SEO best practices for e-commerce.
- Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch) for implementing designs.
- A portfolio showcasing previous Shopify projects, especially those with a sustainability focus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
