Job Description

Tesco is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Warehouse Associates for immediate start at our Coalville distribution centre. No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided. As a Warehouse Associate, you will play a crucial role in our supply chain, ensuring the smooth flow of products from our distribution centre to our stores, ultimately helping us deliver excellent service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and store incoming goods efficiently and accurately.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring correct quantities and quality.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet trucks, stackers) safely and effectively after training.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Conduct regular stock checks and assist with inventory management.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily operational targets and deadlines.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to food safety and hygiene.
- Report any discrepancies, damage, or safety concerns to supervisory staff promptly.
Required Skills
- A strong work ethic and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move packages up to 20kg.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to interpret order forms and labels.
- Willingness to learn new processes and adapt to changing demands.
- Commitment to maintaining a high standard of health and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar fast-paced environment (e.g., retail, manufacturing, or other warehouse roles).
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus, but not required.
- A valid forklift or pallet truck license (training can be provided if needed for specific roles).
