Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Weekend Night Porter to join our dedicated team at a quiet, boutique Hilton property in San Antonio. This part-time role is crucial for ensuring the safety, security, and peaceful environment of our guests and premises during the overnight weekend hours. The ideal candidate will be a calm, observant individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe and comfortable atmosphere, responding to guest needs with discretion, and performing light duties. This position is perfect for someone looking for stable weekend night work in a supportive hotel setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular security rounds throughout the hotel premises, including guest floors, public areas, and external grounds, ensuring all areas are secure.
- Monitor CCTV systems for any unusual activity and respond to potential security concerns following established protocols.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for guests during overnight hours, assisting with inquiries, minor issues, and requests discreetly and professionally.
- Handle late check-ins and early check-outs, as well as prepare for the morning shift by setting up newspapers or light amenities.
- Perform light cleaning tasks in common areas, ensuring the lobby and lounges remain tidy and welcoming.
- Respond to and report any overnight emergencies, such as fire alarms or medical incidents, coordinating with emergency services and management as required.
- Maintain accurate logs and reports of shift activities, incidents, and guest requests.
- Ensure all hotel policies and safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven reliability and punctuality, especially for night shifts.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment.
- Basic computer literacy for logging information and monitoring systems.
- Strong observational skills and a keen eye for detail and security.
- A calm demeanor and ability to handle unexpected situations professionally.
- Commitment to guest service and maintaining a safe, quiet environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel, security, or customer service role.
- Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with hotel operating systems or security software.
- Ability to assist with minor maintenance issues if required.
