Job Description
This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about technology and helping others. As a Virtual Tech Support Advisor (Tier 1), you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing essential technical assistance for a range of Rogers products and services. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive, paid training to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. This is a 100% remote role, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home, supporting customers across Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues for customers via phone, chat, and email, primarily for internet, TV, and wireless services.
- Provide clear, step-by-step instructions and solutions to non-technical users with patience and empathy.
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to higher-tier support teams when necessary, ensuring smooth transitions.
- Accurately document all customer interactions, technical troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in our CRM system.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through empathetic, efficient, and professional service.
- Stay up-to-date with product knowledge, service updates, and technical changes through continuous training and self-study.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including security, privacy protocols, and service level agreements.
Required Skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort navigating software applications and the internet.
- Ability to learn new systems, products, and technical information quickly.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude when interacting with customers.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, distraction-free home office environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous customer service experience (any industry, including retail or hospitality).
- Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows, macOS) and mobile devices (iOS, Android).
