Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our manufacturing team in Huddersfield. This on-site internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to real-world projects, optimizing production processes, and developing innovative solutions for complex mechanical challenges. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems.

  • Participate in root cause analysis for production issues and contribute to corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain.
  • Utilize CAD software to create and modify technical drawings and models.
  • Conduct data collection and analysis to support engineering decision-making.
  • Contribute to the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards in all activities.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
