Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our vibrant team in Sutton, London. This is a unique opportunity for a talented professional, including those from overseas, as we are offering comprehensive visa sponsorship and comfortable practice accommodation. You will be instrumental in delivering high-quality veterinary care, fostering strong client relationships, and contributing to a supportive practice culture. Our modern clinic is well-equipped, providing a diverse caseload and excellent facilities for both routine and advanced procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform consultations, examinations, and diagnoses for a wide range of animal patients.
- Conduct surgical procedures, including both routine and emergency operations, adhering to the highest standards of care.
- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Interpret diagnostic imaging (X-rays, ultrasound) and laboratory results.
- Provide empathetic and clear communication with pet owners regarding diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records.
- Participate in an out-of-hours rota as required (details to be discussed).
- Collaborate effectively with veterinary nurses, receptionists, and other team members.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and learning.
Required Skills
- Veterinary Degree (DVM, BVM&S, BVSc or equivalent)
- Eligibility for or current registration with the RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons)
- Minimum of 2 years post-graduate clinical experience in small animal practice
- Proficiency in routine surgical and medical procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
- A compassionate and client-focused approach
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced veterinary qualifications or certifications
- Experience with advanced diagnostic imaging techniques
- Interest in a specific area of veterinary medicine (e.g., orthopaedics, internal medicine, exotics)
- Previous experience mentoring junior colleagues
