No prior experience is necessary – we believe in investing in motivated individuals and providing you with all the skills and support needed to obtain your PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) license. Our training covers everything from vehicle operation and safety protocols to customer service and route navigation, ensuring you are fully prepared to take the wheel. Upon successful completion of training, you will transition into a full-time Transit Operator role.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in and successfully complete all aspects of our intensive paid training program to obtain a PCV license.
- Learn and adhere to all road safety regulations and company operating procedures.
- Develop excellent customer service skills to interact positively with passengers.
- Master route knowledge, timetable adherence, and effective bus operation.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all passengers.
- Handle passenger inquiries and assist with accessibility needs.
- Manage cash fares and ticketing systems accurately (where applicable).
Required Skills
- A valid UK driving license (Category B) with no more than 6 penalty points.
- A minimum of 1 year of driving experience (car or other vehicle).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safety and customer service.
- Patience, reliability, and a calm demeanor under pressure.
- Ability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Right to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
- Good geographical knowledge of South London and the Croydon area.
- An interest in public transportation and community service.
