Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Law & Estate Planning Intern to join our dynamic team in Cardiff. This internship provides an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the complex world of tax law and estate planning within a leading global accounting firm. You will work alongside experienced professionals, assisting with research, analysis, and preparation of various tax and estate-related documents. This role is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in law, accounting, or finance, with a keen interest in tax legislation and wealth management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal and tax research on current tax laws, regulations, and estate planning strategies.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns, financial statements, and estate planning documents.
- Support senior team members in client meetings and presentations, taking notes and preparing follow-up materials.
- Analyze financial data and legal documents to identify relevant information for tax and estate planning purposes.
- Prepare summaries and memos on research findings for internal review.
- Maintain organized records and documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge of tax and estate planning practices.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated interest in tax law, estate planning, or related legal/financial fields.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Completion of coursework in tax law, trusts and estates, or financial planning.
- Previous experience with legal research databases (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw) is a plus.
