Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Corporate Communications Head to lead our communications strategy and execution. This pivotal role will be responsible for shaping and protecting Truist’s reputation, managing internal and external communications, and developing compelling narratives that resonate with our stakeholders. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills, capable of navigating complex communication challenges in a fast-paced financial services environment. This role requires a strong understanding of media relations, crisis management, executive communications, and digital content strategy. As an international candidate, you will be considered based on your ability to meet U.S. work authorization requirements, and relocation assistance may be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive corporate communications strategies aligned with business objectives and brand values.
- Lead and mentor a team of communications professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Manage all aspects of media relations, including proactive outreach, press releases, media inquiries, and spokesperson training.
- Oversee internal communications to ensure consistent messaging, employee engagement, and alignment with company vision.
- Develop and implement crisis communication plans, acting as a key advisor to senior leadership during critical situations.
- Craft compelling executive communications, including speeches, presentations, and thought leadership articles.
- Drive content strategy across various platforms, including digital, social media, and traditional channels.
- Collaborate with marketing, investor relations, legal, and other departments to ensure integrated messaging.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage, industry trends, and public sentiment to inform communication strategies.
- Ensure all communications adhere to regulatory compliance and company guidelines.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful communication strategies.
- Extensive experience in media relations, crisis management, and executive communications.
- Strong understanding of the financial services industry and its regulatory environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
- Strategic thinking with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience working for a publicly traded company.
- Proficiency in additional languages relevant to international markets.
- Familiarity with digital communication tools and analytics platforms.
