Job Description
We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Store Detective to join our security team in Warrington. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for protecting company assets, preventing loss, and ensuring the safety and security of our colleagues and customers. You will work discreetly to identify and deter theft, investigate incidents, and maintain a secure retail environment. This position requires keen observation skills, sound judgment, and the ability to act calmly and effectively in challenging situations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct covert surveillance within the store to identify and apprehend individuals engaged in theft or fraudulent activities.
- Monitor CCTV systems and alarm systems to detect and respond to security breaches.
- Liaise effectively with store management, law enforcement, and other security personnel.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, arrests, and investigations.
- Maintain accurate records of all security-related activities and observations.
- Participate in loss prevention initiatives and training programs.
- Provide evidence and testimony in court cases if required.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and legal regulations pertaining to security and apprehension.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a security or loss prevention role, preferably in a retail environment.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in report writing and documentation.
- Valid UK driving licence (preferred, but not essential).
Preferred Qualifications
- SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding license.
- Experience with CCTV monitoring and security alarm systems.
- Knowledge of relevant UK laws and regulations concerning theft and apprehension.
- First Aid certification.
