Job Description

As a Virtual Community Welcomer, you will be the first point of contact for new members joining our diverse online communities. Your primary role will be to create a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment through proactive chat-based engagement. You will guide new users, answer initial questions, and help them navigate our platforms, ensuring a positive onboarding experience that encourages long-term participation and engagement. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the specified region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with new community members via chat, welcoming them and introducing community guidelines and features.
  • Answer initial questions and provide helpful resources to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Identify and address potential concerns or friction points for new users, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging interaction and participation.
  • Monitor chat channels for new member activity and offer timely assistance.
  • Contribute to the development of welcoming scripts and best practices.
  • Gather feedback from new members to help improve the onboarding process.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written communication skills with a friendly and empathetic tone.
  • Proficiency in using chat-based communication platforms and tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to connect with people.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage time effectively.
  • A genuine passion for community building and fostering positive online interactions.
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort with online tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in customer service, community management, or online moderation.
  • Familiarity with Meta's family of apps and community features.
  • Experience working in a remote team environment.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.
