Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Boutique Cigar Lounge Host / Retailer to join The Velvet Leaf Society team in Kearney. This role is crucial for ensuring our guests receive an exceptional experience from the moment they step into our lounge. You will be responsible for greeting guests, guiding them through our premium cigar selection, assisting with retail purchases, and maintaining the lounge’s sophisticated ambiance. Evening shifts are available, making this an ideal opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality, retail, and the world of fine cigars. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome all guests upon arrival, managing reservations and walk-ins efficiently.
- Provide expert guidance to guests on our extensive selection of premium cigars, humidors, and accessories, including detailed product knowledge and pairing recommendations.
- Process retail sales accurately using our POS system, handling cash and credit card transactions.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lounge, retail area, and humidor to uphold our luxury standards.
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking shelves, monitoring product levels, and conducting regular counts.
- Prepare and serve beverages (non-alcoholic and potentially alcoholic, if licensed) as per lounge offerings.
- Ensure compliance with all age verification regulations for tobacco and alcohol sales.
- Open and close the lounge according to established procedures, including reconciliation of sales and securing premises.
- Address guest inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with a proactive and friendly demeanor.
- Basic knowledge of retail sales principles and cash handling.
- Ability to work evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be 21 years of age or older (due to tobacco and alcohol sales regulations).

- Previous experience in a luxury retail, hospitality, or fine dining environment.
- Prior knowledge of cigars, tobacco products, or spirits.
