Job Description
Are you a bundle of energy with a passion for entertaining? Bath Rugby is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to bring our beloved mascot, Maximus, to life! This part-time role is perfect for someone who loves to engage with crowds, create memorable moments for fans of all ages, and contribute to the electric atmosphere of match days and community events. You’ll be the face of fun, representing Bath Rugby with spirit and showmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Embody the character of Maximus, Bath Rugby's official mascot, with enthusiasm and consistency.
- Engage with fans, particularly children, before, during, and after home matches.
- Perform pre-game, half-time, and post-game routines and interactions as directed.
- Participate in community events, charity appearances, and promotional activities as scheduled.
- Maintain the mascot costume and ensure its proper care and storage.
- Work collaboratively with the marketing and events teams to enhance the fan experience.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines while in costume.
- Represent Bath Rugby professionally and positively at all times.
Required Skills
- Exceptional physical stamina and ability to wear a large costume for extended periods.
- Strong non-verbal communication and performance skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the match schedule and events.
- Minimum height requirement of 5'8" (173cm) and maximum of 6'2" (188cm) to fit the costume.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a mascot or performer in an entertainment or sports setting.
- Experience working with diverse audiences, including children.
- A passion for rugby and Bath Rugby in particular.
