Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Property Management team in Farnborough as an Entry Level Property Management Bookkeeper. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in finance within the dynamic property sector. In this on-site role, you will be instrumental in maintaining accurate financial records for our diverse portfolio of managed properties. You will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in various bookkeeping tasks, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our finance department. Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Assist with the preparation and processing of tenant statements, rent rolls, and service charge reconciliations.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations for various property accounts.
- Maintain meticulous financial records and documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing procedures under supervision.
- Liaise with property managers, tenants, and suppliers regarding financial queries and discrepancies.
- Assist in generating various financial reports as required by senior team members.
- Continuously seek to improve processes and contribute to the overall efficiency of the finance department.
Required Skills
- A basic understanding of bookkeeping or accounting principles, or a strong willingness to learn and develop in this area.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data entry and analysis.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work and continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- A-levels or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., Mathematics, Business Studies, Accounting).
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) through academic study or personal use is a plus.
- A genuine interest in the property management or wider real estate industry.
- Previous administrative or data entry experience, even if informal, is beneficial.
