Job Description

Are you handy with tools and love bringing visions to life? IKEA is looking for enthusiastic and detail-oriented Patio Furniture Assemblers to help our customers get their outdoor spaces ready for summer! As an IKEA Patio Furniture Assembler, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently assembling various IKEA outdoor furniture products, ensuring high quality and customer satisfaction. This role involves travel to customer homes within the Canterbury and surrounding Kent areas. You’ll be part of a team that helps transform backyards into beautiful, functional, and inviting spaces, just in time for BBQ season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer locations within the designated service area to assemble IKEA patio furniture.
  • Accurately and efficiently assemble various IKEA outdoor furniture pieces, including tables, chairs, sofas, gazebos, and storage solutions, following provided instructions.
  • Ensure all furniture is assembled to IKEA's quality standards and specifications.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with customers, providing excellent service and addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area at customer premises.
  • Safely handle tools and equipment, adhering to all safety guidelines.
  • Report any product defects or missing parts promptly to the supervisor.
  • Manage time effectively to complete scheduled assembly tasks within estimated timeframes.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to use basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in assembly work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot assembly issues.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift and move furniture components.
  • Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transportation for travel to customer homes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in furniture assembly, construction, or a similar hands-on role.
  • Familiarity with IKEA products and assembly instructions.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for customer service.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
