Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and compassionate Nursing Home Registered Manager to lead our dedicated team in Orillia, Ontario. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of our nursing home’s operations, ensuring the highest standards of resident care, regulatory compliance, and staff management. As a Registered Manager, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and safe environment for our residents while promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement among our staff. Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall strategic and operational leadership for the nursing home, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
- Ensure full compliance with all provincial and federal regulations, standards of practice, and organizational policies.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of resident care plans, promoting person-centred care.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Manage financial resources, including budget development, monitoring, and cost control.
- Implement quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as a liaison with residents, families, and external stakeholders, addressing concerns and building strong relationships.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for residents, staff, and visitors, including emergency preparedness.
Required Skills
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with a Canadian provincial regulatory body (or eligibility for registration).
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a long-term care or similar healthcare management role.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant healthcare legislation, standards, and best practices in Ontario.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and financial operations effectively.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing, Health Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in gerontology or long-term care management.
- Experience with international recruitment and integration of diverse staff.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
