Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Shopify Migration Lead to join our growing team. This pivotal role will be responsible for spearheading complex migrations of existing e-commerce stores to the Shopify Plus platform. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage client relationships, and ensure the successful delivery of migration projects from discovery through to launch. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Shopify Plus architecture, data migration strategies, and a proven track record of leading large-scale e-commerce projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end Shopify Plus migration projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
- Develop comprehensive migration strategies, including data migration, theme conversion, app integration, and SEO considerations.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their business requirements, technical specifications, and success metrics.
- Oversee technical teams, providing guidance and ensuring best practices in Shopify development and integration.
- Conduct thorough discovery and analysis of existing e-commerce platforms and identify potential migration challenges.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and communication with all stakeholders.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables, including testing, debugging, and post-launch support planning.
- Stay abreast of Shopify Plus updates, features, and third-party integrations to provide expert recommendations.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in e-commerce platform management or development, with a strong focus on Shopify.
- Proven experience leading at least 3-5 full-cycle migrations to Shopify Plus from other platforms (e.g., Magento, BigCommerce, custom).
- In-depth understanding of Shopify Plus architecture, Liquid templating, APIs, and app ecosystem.
- Strong project management skills, including familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication, client-facing, and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in data migration techniques and tools.
- Understanding of SEO implications during platform migrations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Shopify Plus Developer Certification or relevant certifications.
- Experience with headless Shopify implementations.
- Background in a digital agency or consultancy environment.
- Familiarity with various e-commerce ERP, CRM, and marketing automation integrations.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
