Job Description
Are you a skilled Shopify Developer with a passion for e-commerce and a drive to shape the future of Canadian retail? Loblaw Digital is seeking an innovative and dedicated individual to join our dynamic team in Brampton. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, optimizing, and maintaining our Shopify Plus storefronts, ensuring high performance, scalability, and an exceptional user experience. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to bring cutting-edge e-commerce solutions to life, directly impacting millions of customers across Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement custom Shopify themes and functionality using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Integrate third-party applications and APIs to enhance e-commerce capabilities and user experience.
- Optimize Shopify stores for speed, responsiveness, and SEO best practices.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate visual designs into high-quality front-end code.
- Work closely with product managers to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure robust and error-free deployments.
- Maintain and update existing Shopify features, ensuring ongoing performance and security.
- Participate in code reviews, contributing to a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify features, trends, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of professional experience as a Shopify Developer.
- Proficiency in Shopify Liquid templating language.
- Strong command of front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS), JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with Shopify API integration (Storefront API, Admin API).
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Solid understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot complex front-end and back-end issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Shopify Plus and its advanced features.
- Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js).
- Experience with headless Shopify implementations.
- Familiarity with conversion rate optimization (CRO) techniques.
- Understanding of web performance optimization tools and techniques.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Background in retail or e-commerce industry.
