Job Description

Are you passionate about technology and creating optimal work environments? Best Buy Canada is seeking a dedicated Home Office Setup Tasker to join our growing team. In this role, you will be instrumental in helping our clients establish efficient, ergonomic, and tech-forward home office setups. You’ll travel to client homes in the Waterloo region, assessing their needs, configuring hardware and software, optimizing network connectivity, and providing personalized guidance on ergonomic best practices. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong customer service orientation to ensure our clients have a seamless and productive home office experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site assessments of client home office spaces to understand their technical and ergonomic requirements.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot various computer hardware, peripherals, and software applications.
  • Set up and optimize network connections, including Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and home security systems related to the office.
  • Implement ergonomic solutions for workstations, including monitor placement, keyboard/mouse setup, and chair adjustments.
  • Provide basic training and guidance to clients on new equipment, software, and ergonomic principles.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to home office setups, ensuring smooth operation.
  • Document setup configurations, troubleshooting steps, and client preferences.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest home office technology and ergonomic best practices.
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through clear communication and professional service.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience with PC and Mac hardware and software installation/troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of network configurations (Wi-Fi routers, modems, wired connections).
  • Familiarity with common home office peripherals (printers, webcams, monitors).
  • Basic knowledge of ergonomic principles for computer workstations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in IT support (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional).
  • Experience with smart home technology integration.
  • Previous experience in a field service or in-home support role.
  • A degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
