Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Shopify Developer to join our fully remote team in Canada. You will be instrumental in building and optimizing high-performance e-commerce solutions for our merchants. This role requires a strong understanding of Shopify’s platform, theme development using Liquid, and modern front-end best practices. You will work on custom themes, integrate third-party apps, and ensure an exceptional user experience, contributing directly to the success of our diverse merchant base.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy custom Shopify themes and sections using Liquid, HTML, CSS (SCSS), and JavaScript.
- Optimize Shopify stores for speed, responsiveness, and conversion rates across various devices.
- Integrate and configure third-party Shopify apps and APIs to extend store functionality.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers and product managers to translate design mockups and wireframes into functional Shopify experiences.
- Maintain existing Shopify stores, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary updates.
- Ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify platform features, industry trends, and development tools.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of professional experience with Shopify theme development.
- Expertise in Liquid templating language.
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS), and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with responsive web design principles and mobile-first development.
- Familiarity with Shopify's API and app ecosystem.
- Proficient with version control systems, especially Git.
- Ability to write clean, well-documented, and scalable code.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
- Experience with front-end frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and SEO best practices.
- Familiarity with build tools such as Webpack, Gulp, or Grunt.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Portfolio showcasing previous Shopify development projects.
