Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Export Fumigation Assistant to join our team in Richmond, BC. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for preparing shipping containers for fumigation and ensuring all protocols are followed to prevent the spread of pests in international cargo. This involves meticulous container inspection, sealing, and adherence to strict safety and regulatory guidelines. You will work closely with our fumigation specialists and logistics team to ensure smooth and compliant export operations. This is an on-site position requiring physical activity and a strong commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect containers to ensure they are clean, dry, and suitable for fumigation.
- Seal containers effectively using appropriate materials to ensure gas retention during fumigation.
- Assist in the placement and removal of fumigation equipment and monitoring devices under supervision.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records of container preparation and fumigation activities.
- Report any issues or deviations from protocol to the supervisor immediately.
- Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international fumigation and export regulations.
- Assist with general warehouse duties and container handling as needed.
- Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.

- Physical stamina to perform duties that may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or cargo handling environment.

- Valid forklift operator certification.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
