Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team in Aberystwyth. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review accurate financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Manage the end-to-end month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and precise reporting.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis, variance reporting, and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all relevant tax regulations, including VAT and Corporation Tax.
  • Actively support external audit processes, preparing necessary documentation and responding to queries.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
  • Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development and growth.
  • Collaborate effectively with external auditors, tax advisors, and other professional bodies.
  • Identify and implement continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within financial operations.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Financial Accountant, ideally in a senior capacity.
  • Comprehensive understanding and practical application of UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Proficiency in enterprise-level accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Experience with intercompany reconciliations and multi-entity accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent internationally recognized professional accounting qualification.
  • Prior experience working within a professional services firm or a large corporate environment.
  • Experience with multinational clients or exposure to multi-currency accounting.
  • Familiarity with financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques.
  • Knowledge of data analytics tools and techniques.
