Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Family Office Investment Intern to join our Sault Ste. Marie team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the wealth management sector, specifically within a family office framework. The intern will assist our advisors and investment professionals with research, analysis, and administrative tasks crucial to managing sophisticated client portfolios. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates passionate about finance, investments, and client service, looking to launch their career in wealth management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on various investment opportunities, market trends, and economic indicators.
  • Assist in the preparation of client presentations, performance reports, and financial analyses.
  • Support the team with administrative tasks, including data entry, document organization, and scheduling.
  • Learn about portfolio construction, asset allocation strategies, and risk management techniques.
  • Shadow wealth advisors in client meetings and internal strategy sessions to understand client needs and service delivery.
  • Contribute to special projects aimed at improving operational efficiency or client experience.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all regulatory and internal compliance standards.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's degree program in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in financial markets and wealth management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship experience in a financial services or office setting.
  • Familiarity with financial software or data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon).
  • Progress towards relevant certifications (e.g., CSC, CFA Student Affiliate).
  • Understanding of basic investment principles and financial instruments.
