Job Description

Join the passionate team at Vignoble de l’Orpailleur as a Tasting Room Pourer for our weekend shifts in Saint-Hyacinthe. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals eager to learn about the world of wine, provide outstanding customer service, and contribute to an inviting atmosphere. You’ll be the face of our winery, guiding guests through memorable tasting experiences and sharing the story behind our exquisite products. No prior extensive wine knowledge is required; we provide comprehensive training for the right enthusiastic candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly to the tasting room and provide an engaging and educational tasting experience.
  • Educate guests about Vignoble de l'Orpailleur's wines, ciders, and winemaking philosophy.
  • Pour wine samples responsibly and efficiently, adhering to all provincial liquor laws.
  • Process sales transactions accurately using our POS system, including wine, merchandise, and club memberships.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting room, including glassware, serving areas, and retail displays.
  • Assist with inventory management and restocking shelves as needed.
  • Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues with professionalism and grace.
  • Participate in training sessions to continuously expand your knowledge of our products and the wine industry.
  • Support special events and private tastings as required.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A positive attitude and enthusiastic approach to learning.
  • Reliability and punctuality for all scheduled shifts, especially weekends.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer literacy for POS system operations.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs (e.g., cases of wine).
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in Quebec (18+).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or customer service.
  • Basic knowledge or a strong interest in wine and viticulture.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is a significant asset.
