Job Description
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Ruby on Rails Developer to join our dynamic team in Stoke-on-Trent. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and enhancing our web applications using Ruby on Rails. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet our clients’ evolving needs. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure web applications using Ruby on Rails.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient Ruby code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge.
- Troubleshoot and debug production issues.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Implement and maintain automated testing, including unit, integration, and functional tests.
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Ruby and the Ruby on Rails framework.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Experience with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM tools.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs development and integration.
- Ability to write comprehensive unit and integration tests.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with front-end JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular).
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of Docker or containerization technologies.
