Job Description
The Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra is seeking an exceptionally talented and dedicated Professional Symphony Musician to join our ranks. This is a unique opportunity for a virtuoso performer to contribute to a renowned orchestra known for its artistic excellence and community engagement. The successful candidate will perform in all scheduled concerts, rehearsals, and outreach activities, maintaining the highest standards of musicality and professionalism. We are looking for an individual who not only possesses outstanding technical skill but also a passion for collaboration and a commitment to advancing the arts.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in all scheduled rehearsals, concerts, and recording sessions with the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra.
- Maintain an exceptional level of musical artistry, technical proficiency, and ensemble playing.
- Adhere to the orchestra's established performance standards and artistic guidelines.
- Participate in outreach and educational programs as required, engaging with the community.
- Arrive punctually and prepared for all calls, bringing necessary instruments and accessories.
- Collaborate effectively with conductors, fellow musicians, and administrative staff.
Required Skills
- Exceptional proficiency on a standard orchestral instrument (e.g., Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Percussion).
- Demonstrated experience performing in professional orchestral settings.
- Advanced sight-reading abilities and comprehensive knowledge of orchestral repertoire.
- Strong musicality, intonation, rhythm, and dynamic control.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a high-pressure, ensemble environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Music Performance or equivalent professional experience.
- Previous experience with nationally or internationally recognized symphony orchestras.
- Experience in chamber music or solo performance.
- Commitment to community engagement and music education.
