Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our team as Shipyard / Dockyard Workers. This vital role involves supporting the construction, maintenance, and repair of naval vessels and other marine structures. Key Responsibilities
- Perform various manual labour tasks in a shipyard or dockyard setting, including material handling, rigging, and general site maintenance.
- Assist skilled tradespersons (e.g., welders, fabricators, electricians) with their daily tasks.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Clean and prepare work areas, ensuring a safe and organized environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in the loading and unloading of materials and equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any malfunctions or damage.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet project deadlines and objectives.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding manual tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently when required.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in an industrial environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a shipyard, construction, manufacturing, or heavy industrial setting.
- Familiarity with various hand and power tools.
- Certification in relevant areas such as forklift operation, confined space entry, or working at heights.
