Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Road Sweeper Driver to join our environmental services team in Bristol. This vital role involves operating specialist road sweeping vehicles to maintain the cleanliness and safety of public roads, car parks, and industrial estates across the region. You will play a crucial part in keeping our communities tidy and preventing environmental hazards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate road sweeping vehicles safely and efficiently according to company procedures and highway code.
- Perform daily vehicle checks, ensuring the sweeper is in good working order and reporting any defects promptly.
- Clean public roads, car parks, and other designated areas, removing debris, leaves, and other waste materials.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including routes, times, and issues encountered.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Assist with other general duties as required by operational needs.
Required Skills
- Valid UK Driving Licence (Category C/HGV Class 2)
- Driver CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Proven experience operating large vehicles, ideally road sweepers or similar plant.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Road Sweeper Driver.
- Knowledge of the Bristol road network.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor fault reporting.
- NVQ in Plant Operations or similar.
