Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Nurse Assistant to join our vibrant team in Wednesfield. This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about early years education to contribute to a stimulating and safe environment for children, working term time only. You will support qualified nursery nurses and play a crucial role in the daily operations of the nursery, fostering development and ensuring the well-being of every child under our care. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified nursery staff in planning and implementing daily activities and educational programmes.
  • Provide a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children aged 0-5 years.
  • Support children's personal care routines, including feeding, nappy changing, and toilet training.
  • Observe and monitor children's development, reporting any concerns or achievements to senior staff.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to children's individual learning journeys.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, sharing updates on their child's progress and daily activities.
  • Ensure the nursery environment is clean, tidy, and well-organised, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Act as a positive role model, promoting good behaviour and social skills among children.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare.
  • Proven experience working with children aged 0-5 in a nursery or childcare setting (12 months minimum).
  • Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Demonstrated patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.
  • Current enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to undertake training).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare.
  • Experience with specific early years educational methods (e.g., Montessori, Reggio Emilia).
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
