Job Description
We are seeking passionate and culturally astute individuals to join our team as a Part-time Remote Cultural Consultant. In this flexible role, you will provide critical insights and feedback on content in various stages of development to ensure cultural authenticity, accuracy, and appropriate representation. This is an opportunity to directly influence the narratives seen by millions worldwide, ensuring our stories resonate authentically with diverse audiences. Key Responsibilities
- Review scripts, concepts, and early-stage content to identify potential cultural inaccuracies, stereotypes, or misrepresentations.
- Provide constructive feedback and actionable recommendations to creative teams regarding cultural nuances, traditions, and sensitivities.
- Offer insights on character development, dialogue, settings, and storylines to enhance authenticity and avoid unintentional offense.
- Collaborate with writers, producers, and directors to integrate cultural perspectives seamlessly into content.
- Stay informed about current cultural trends, discussions, and sensitivities relevant to specific communities or regions.
- Participate in remote feedback sessions and meetings as required.
- Contribute to an inclusive and respectful creative environment.
Required Skills
- Deep understanding and lived experience of specific cultural communities or regions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex cultural concepts clearly.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities.
- High level of sensitivity and awareness regarding cultural representation.
- Ability to provide constructive and diplomatic feedback.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
- Fluent in English (additional language proficiency a plus).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in cultural consulting, research, or advocacy.
- Background in anthropology, sociology, media studies, or related fields.
- Experience working with creative teams in film, television, or digital media.
