Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Node.js Developer to join our innovative software development team in Aberdeen. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance server-side applications. You will work within an agile environment, collaborating closely with front-end developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to deliver robust software solutions that meet our evolving business needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy highly scalable, robust, and secure Node.js applications and APIs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
  • Implement and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Contribute to the entire application lifecycle, from conception to deployment.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technology trends and apply new technologies where appropriate.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Node.js and its frameworks (e.g., Express.js, NestJS).
  • Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and its paradigms.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and system architecture.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Ability to write comprehensive unit and integration tests.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
  • Experience in the energy or industrial technology sector.
