Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Logistics Tally Clerk to join our warehouse operations in Allentown, PA. This critical role involves accurately counting, verifying, and recording incoming and outgoing inventory, ensuring the integrity of our logistics data. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment, possess exceptional organizational skills, and have a strong commitment to accuracy. This position is strictly warehouse-focused and does not involve phone-based customer service or administrative duties. Your primary focus will be on the physical verification and documentation of goods within our facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately count and verify quantities of incoming and outgoing goods against packing lists, purchase orders, and other documentation.
- Inspect shipments for damage or discrepancies and report findings promptly.
- Document and record inventory movements using established procedures and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Prepare clear and concise tally sheets, labels, and other necessary paperwork.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Organize and maintain a clean and safe work area within the warehouse.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents and labels.
- Proficiency in basic data entry (keyboarding).
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented warehouse environment.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 30 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory control role (1+ years preferred).
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Forklift certification or experience (preferred, but not required).
