Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Gas Station Field Auditor to conduct regular, independent audits of gas station operations on a contract basis. This role involves performing quick, on-site inspections to ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines. You will be responsible for verifying operational procedures, checking equipment functionality, and documenting findings accurately. This is a field-based role, requiring the use of your own reliable vehicle to travel to various locations within the Tacoma and surrounding Puget Sound area. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site audits of gas stations to evaluate compliance with operational procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Inspect fuel dispensers, storage tanks, and related equipment for proper functionality and maintenance.
  • Verify inventory levels and cash handling procedures where applicable.
  • Document audit findings, including deficiencies, observations, and recommendations, using established reporting templates.
  • Capture photographic evidence as required to support audit reports.
  • Communicate effectively with station managers and personnel regarding audit processes and initial findings.
  • Adhere to strict deadlines for completing audits and submitting reports.
  • Travel to multiple gas station locations daily within the assigned territory using a personal vehicle.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data security for all audit-related information.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using mobile devices and basic office software (e.g., Google Suite, Microsoft Office) for reporting.
  • Valid driver's license and a reliable personal vehicle with current insurance.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the designated service area.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols and operational compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in auditing, quality control, or field inspection roles.
  • Familiarity with gas station operations, retail environments, or petroleum industry regulations.
  • Certification in relevant areas (e.g., safety, quality management).
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
