Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Information Security Manager to join our dynamic team in Sept-Îles, QC. This critical role involves overseeing the comprehensive security posture of our local operations, ensuring compliance with both internal policies and external regulatory requirements. The Information Security Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing security programs, identifying vulnerabilities, and responding to incidents. You will work closely with various departments to embed security best practices throughout our technological infrastructure and business processes. This is an on-site position vital for maintaining the trust and security our clients expect from RBC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain information security policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with RBC's global security framework.
  • Manage and oversee security risk assessments, vulnerability management, and penetration testing initiatives.
  • Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
  • Monitor security systems and tools for alerts, anomalies, and potential threats, taking appropriate action.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, OSFI guidelines) and data privacy laws.
  • Provide expert guidance and consultation on information security best practices to IT and business teams.
  • Conduct security awareness training for employees to foster a culture of security.
  • Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and controls to enhance our security posture.
  • Prepare and present regular security reports to senior management on the state of security and key initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, with at least 2 years in a management or lead role.
  • Strong understanding of information security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT).
  • Expertise in risk management, vulnerability assessment, and incident response methodologies.
  • Proficiency with various security technologies such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and data loss prevention (DLP).
  • Solid knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud security principles.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CompTIA Security+.
  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements specific to Canadian financial institutions (e.g., OSFI).
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
