Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Heavy Duty Shed Racking Tasker to join our team in Wolverhampton. This role is crucial for ensuring our storage facilities, particularly for larger items like sheds and outdoor structures, are efficiently organized, safely maintained, and correctly assembled/disassembled. You will be responsible for handling heavy materials and using a variety of tools to construct, modify, and repair heavy-duty racking systems, ensuring optimal space utilization and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and disassemble heavy-duty racking systems for sheds and other large storage units according to specifications.
- Utilize various hand and power tools safely and effectively for construction and maintenance tasks.
- Inspect existing racking for damage, wear, or instability, and report or rectify issues promptly.
- Relocate and organize heavy materials within the storage facility using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with inventory management tasks related to large items and their storage locations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and meet operational deadlines.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools (drills, wrenches, impact drivers, etc.).
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects safely.
- Understanding of basic carpentry and assembly principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions or diagrams.
- Strong commitment to health and safety procedures.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, construction, or retail environment involving heavy lifting and assembly.
- Experience with specific racking systems (e.g., pallet racking, cantilever racking).
- Knowledge of manual handling techniques and safe lifting practices.
- Forklift certification (though not essential for this specific role, it is a plus).
